Hey everyone, its Patrick.
On Easter day, my fiance Krysten Started to cough up blood due to complications of her
Cystic Fibrosis. We brought her to Johns Hopkins Hospital here in Baltimore. after being admitted, and treatment started, she began to get better. On the day she was supposed to be released the blood started again, but worse. She was taken in for a embolization and brought into the MICU. The doctors said the embolization was successful. The next day it happened again. she was sent in for her second embolization, but this one was not successful. They started her on a medication to try to take care of the problem, but it did not work. with these kind of results krysten had about an 80 to 90 percent chance of bleeding again. So with hardly any options left the doctors presented surgery to the table. So the next day they preformed a
Lobectomy. The surgery went successful. Then, after a couple days things got better, and they took the ventilator out. After that, she took a turn for the worse and her pneumonia flared up. Her breathing got worse, and they had to put the ventilator back in. By Gods grace she is getting better and will hopefully be home soon.
That is the previous days in a nut shell.
I just talked to krystens CF team here at johns Hopkins. They say her antibiotics are being doubled, and will hopefully fight the pneumonia a lot better. We should know in a couple of days. Krysten is still on the ventilator, and very sleepy. She is doing good with all of her physical therapy and treatments, Praise GOD! Her body is slowly recovering from the infections and staying stable. This is day 15 of her being in the hospital, and i pray that her faith is growing day by day as mine is. she is truly an amazing testimony to HIS amazing glory. I cant wait to hear her side of all this. It has been a very long 15 days, it has tested my faith, beaten me down, but HE brought me right back up. I hope i can update this day by day for everyone but in this place who knows. Thank you everyone for you support, love, and most importantly prayers.
LORD we thank you, for blessing Krysten and I with amazing family and friends. GOD i pray that everyone can see YOUR glory in this, and look to YOU. Father YOU are amazing. we thank YOU for the healing that has taken place in Krysten and i pray that YOU, the great physician will continue to heal her lungs. i pray in JESUS name AMEN!
We love you all!
Patrick
