A new journey
Hey everyone.
On Thursday around 2 pm krysten was taken by ambulance to Baltimore Washington medical center for a seizure. Before this she had been complaining of headaches and stomach aches. When she got to the ER they did a CT scan of her abdomen and head when they presented us with what they found it was completely out of left field. Having nothing to do with her CF the test showed a bleed in her brain 1.2x1.8cm in size. They almost immediately put her on a respirator and we had her transferred to Johns Hopkins hospital. After some test that nightly appeared that the bleed was not growing. The next morning she was doing better, answering questions and fallowing commands. They took her off the respirator that morning around 11 am. By about 4pm her condition had slowly deteriorated. They put her back on the respirator and took her for a cerebral angiogram. This checks blood vessels in the brain to make sure they are all functioning well, They found nothing. Now at this time Krysten is still on the respirator, and doctors are doing a EEG. I hope to meet with the doctors soon to find out what the next step is to getting my wife home. I will try to keep this updated as much as possible. Please keep Krysten in your prayers. She is a strong women and I know she can pull through. She knows through her Faith in GOD that He can heal her. It's up to us to ask and praise Him for all of the blessing in Jesus Name!
We love you all!

Day 41 at Hopkins, Praise God
Day 41 at johns Hopkins and God continues to show His
amazing glory. After everything Krysten has been through here the doctor told
us today they are shooting for Tuesday to discharge her. Slowly they are knocking off the oxygen, and
antibiotics. She is walking a lot more, 10 laps today as well as steps. She says
tomorrow it will be 11 laps. She gets stronger every day and gets much more
active. i know she can’t wait to get home and see everyone. We plan to celebrate
her birthday Saturday, and attend the CF walk on Sunday. We continue to praise
God for the blessing we have received in all of this. We have grown stronger in
our relationship, friends, family, and most important God. Please continue to
pray for Krysten as she gets stronger, gains her weight back, and tackles the
road to recovery. In Jesus Name!
We love you all,

One more day of healing in JESUS name!
Good evening everyone. It’s Krysten, attempting to get back
some of her typing skills.
Today was an amazing day, Praise God. I walked 1250+ steps.
Woohoo! And my legs don’t feel quite as much like jello when I stand up either.
I got to go on 2 wheelchair rides as well; both were located at the cafeteria
to break out some pickles from Subway. :P
I, also, had my picc line placed today. One huge step closer
to the door. The doctors have high hopes that maybe in a week I could get out
of here. Trust me loves I’m doing everything I can to make this possible. I
have my swallow test tomorrow which please pray for….I wanna be able to eat
regular food!
Patrick is still taking great care of me. He is the best husband
a girl could ask for. And as soon as we are out of this storm I can’t wait to
call him my own. I love him so much. & I love you all, thank you for your
prayers. <3
P.S. Thank you for the amazing support of the CF walk. I’m
blown away by the amount of donations, Praise God for you all!
I love you all,'

Faith as small as a mustard seed!
Hey everyone,
Its day 27, and we have been convicted with a wonderful
blessing in our dear nurse Yelena, She is a blessing as she prayed with us for
a full recovery, nausea and slumber in JESUS name. I walked yesterday 180 feet,
took a shower and started to get my apatite back. Today, I walked 270 feet with
a lot more balance. They put me in for a transfer out of the MICU as soon as a
bed in available. Praise GOD for positive steps forward and recovery. The doctor
said today in maybe a week I can be discharged so please pray for strength and
healing in JESUS name. With faith as small as a mustard seed HE will bring you
through, and HE has with HIS amazing Glory. PRAISE GOD!
I love you,
Krysten

Walking With the LORD!
Hey everyone,
Sorry I haven’t updated you in a couple days, it has been
busy around here. Krysten is doing great today I went to bed at around 4am ad
woke up around 7 to her saying ‘’ baby can we play a game” while sitting up and
looking at me. I was so excited to see her awake and ready to go. As I said
before the past couple days have been really busy, Krysten walked for the first
time yesterday, and said this morning she was ready to walk again. She is also
getting her appetite back thank the LORD! However she can’t eat anything solid
so I know she does not like that. Today is going to bring great things. I know
she is going to do great walking and will slowly gain strength.
LORD I thank you and praise you for YOUR glory over Krysten.
YOUR Healing and patience FATHER YOU are amazing. I pray that YOU continue to
bless us In the name of JESUS! I thank you for our family and friends. For working

Krysten First Post!
Hey everyone its Krysten this time.
I had all my tubes removed today Praise GOD! And it has been
a very long day, but I’m a fighter only by the grace of God J I was told I can eat
today, but I haven’t eaten in almost two weeks so I can’t keep anything down. Please
pray for my ability to swallow and keep food down. The doctors put me on a regular
nasal cannula for breathing. I also stood up today, and Lord willing will be
able to start walking a little tomorrow. I am very tired and restless so please
pray for rest also. Thanks for all the love and support I hope to talk to
everyone soon.

Praise GOD for Healing!
Day 22 here at Johns Hopkins, and things are going great.
Krysten is breathing very well, and should be on minimum to no oxygen by
tomorrow. Her respiratory rate is around 30 tonight, So LORD willing by morning
should be down in the twenty’s. The surgeon told me earlier today they
would take her chest tube out tomorrow. Then, she should be on her way out of
the MICU. Also, speech therapy evaluated Krysten today, she is able to eat ice
chips and drink teaspoons of water. Tomorrow should bring a better diet. Today
has been a great day, and I can’t wait to see wait to see what the LORD has for
tomorrow. I also wanted to thank everyone who donated to Krysten’s Great Strides
walk to help support the cure for Cystic Fibrosis. She is going to be blown
away by all of the love and support she is getting. If anyone would like to
help support the cure, and Krysten this is the link to her donation page. http://www.cff.org/great_strides/KrystenHanneken/
We continue to praise GOD for our journey and the support we have had through all of this. Krysten and I cant wait to be able to share this with as many people as possible, we know that with HIS strength anything is possible. We will continue to Praise HIM for every step we have taken.

3 Weeks in! Lets Keep Praising GOD!
Hey everyone,
Today was a blessed day, as they all have been. Today Krysten
got her breathing tube out for the second time! Thank the LORD! She is
breathing heavy and has an oxygen mask, but I pray that tomorrow that will be
all cleared up. Her respiratory rate needs to be in the mid-20s to get rid of this
mask, and switch to a nasal cannula. Her RR is now floating around in the low 40s. The doctor told me today that she was
going to see about starting the process of taking the chest tub out, it’s about
a 24 hour process. Also, the dystonic reaction is almost cleared up and should be
gone soon. Krysten has been so strong through all of this. She has been through
so much in these past three weeks, and just keeps praising GOD. Her strength
and faith in GOD has been such an inspiration and a testimony to me. I pray in
Jesus name that this is our last week here, and she can come home soon.
LORD JESUS i lift Krysten up to YOU to receive YOUR healing. That she could control her breathing and fight the good fight Father that YOU would restore her to how YOU want her and let her share YOUR glory to everyone she meets. In JESUS name AMEN!
We love you all!

Day 17 - Healing in the name of JESUS
Hello all,
Praise GOD, HE is so amazing ,I just talked talked to the doctor about Krysten. If all goes well, and HE allows it the breathing tube will come out tomorrow! I pray in the name of JESUS that she might be home next week. Day to day she gets better, and i cant wait to hear her voice again. I look forward to taking her home, and just loving her. After 17 days in the hospital i learned so much about my walk with GOD, and my relationship with both Krysten and my family. I have learned a lot about what it means to make a commitment to someone and stand by them in the hardest times.
Please Continue to lift Krysten up in the name of JESUS for complete healing.

Psalm 71 (NKJV)
God the Rock of Salvation
71 In You, O Lord, I put my trust;
Let me never be put to shame.
2 Deliver me in Your righteousness, and cause me to escape;
Incline Your ear to me, and save me.
3 Be my strong refuge,
To which I may resort continually;
You have given the commandment to save me,
For You are my rock and my fortress.
Let me never be put to shame.
2 Deliver me in Your righteousness, and cause me to escape;
Incline Your ear to me, and save me.
3 Be my strong refuge,
To which I may resort continually;
You have given the commandment to save me,
For You are my rock and my fortress.
4 Deliver me, O my God, out of the hand of the wicked,
Out of the hand of the unrighteous and cruel man.
5 For You are my hope, O Lord GOD;
You are my trust from my youth.
6 By You I have been upheld from birth;
You are He who took me out of my mother’s womb.
My praise shall be continually of You.
Out of the hand of the unrighteous and cruel man.
5 For You are my hope, O Lord GOD;
You are my trust from my youth.
6 By You I have been upheld from birth;
You are He who took me out of my mother’s womb.
My praise shall be continually of You.
7 I have become as a wonder to many,
But You are my strong refuge.
8 Let my mouth be filled with Your praise
And with Your glory all the day.
But You are my strong refuge.
8 Let my mouth be filled with Your praise
And with Your glory all the day.
9 Do not cast me off in the time of old age;
Do not forsake me when my strength fails.
10 For my enemies speak against me;
And those who lie in wait for my life take counsel together,
11 Saying, “God has forsaken him;
Pursue and take him, for there is none to deliver him.”
Do not forsake me when my strength fails.
10 For my enemies speak against me;
And those who lie in wait for my life take counsel together,
11 Saying, “God has forsaken him;
Pursue and take him, for there is none to deliver him.”
12 O God, do not be far from me;
O my God, make haste to help me!
13 Let them be confounded and consumed
Who are adversaries of my life;
Let them be covered with reproach and dishonor
Who seek my hurt.
O my God, make haste to help me!
13 Let them be confounded and consumed
Who are adversaries of my life;
Let them be covered with reproach and dishonor
Who seek my hurt.
14 But I will hope continually,
And will praise You yet more and more.
15 My mouth shall tell of Your righteousness
And Your salvation all the day,
For I do not know their limits.
16 I will go in the strength of the Lord GOD;
I will make mention of Your righteousness, of Yours only.
And will praise You yet more and more.
15 My mouth shall tell of Your righteousness
And Your salvation all the day,
For I do not know their limits.
16 I will go in the strength of the Lord GOD;
I will make mention of Your righteousness, of Yours only.
17 O God, You have taught me from my youth;
And to this day I declare Your wondrous works.
18 Now also when I am old and grayheaded,
O God, do not forsake me,
Until I declare Your strength to this generation,
Your power to everyone who is to come.
And to this day I declare Your wondrous works.
18 Now also when I am old and grayheaded,
O God, do not forsake me,
Until I declare Your strength to this generation,
Your power to everyone who is to come.
19 Also Your righteousness, O God, is very high,
You who have done great things;
O God, who is like You?
20 You, who have shown me great and severe troubles,
Shall revive me again,
And bring me up again from the depths of the earth.
21 You shall increase my greatness,
And comfort me on every side.
You who have done great things;
O God, who is like You?
20 You, who have shown me great and severe troubles,
Shall revive me again,
And bring me up again from the depths of the earth.
21 You shall increase my greatness,
And comfort me on every side.
22 Also with the lute I will praise You—
And Your faithfulness, O my God!
To You I will sing with the harp,
O Holy One of Israel.
23 My lips shall greatly rejoice when I sing to You,
And my soul, which You have redeemed.
24 My tongue also shall talk of Your righteousness all the day long;
For they are confounded,
For they are brought to shame
Who seek my hurt.
And Your faithfulness, O my God!
To You I will sing with the harp,
O Holy One of Israel.
23 My lips shall greatly rejoice when I sing to You,
And my soul, which You have redeemed.
24 My tongue also shall talk of Your righteousness all the day long;
For they are confounded,
For they are brought to shame
Who seek my hurt.

Round 1 - 4/15/13
Hey everyone, its Patrick.
On Easter day, my fiance Krysten Started to cough up blood due to complications of her Cystic Fibrosis. We brought her to Johns Hopkins Hospital here in Baltimore. after being admitted, and treatment started, she began to get better. On the day she was supposed to be released the blood started again, but worse. She was taken in for a embolization and brought into the MICU. The doctors said the embolization was successful. The next day it happened again. she was sent in for her second embolization, but this one was not successful. They started her on a medication to try to take care of the problem, but it did not work. with these kind of results krysten had about an 80 to 90 percent chance of bleeding again. So with hardly any options left the doctors presented surgery to the table. So the next day they preformed a Lobectomy. The surgery went successful. Then, after a couple days things got better, and they took the ventilator out. After that, she took a turn for the worse and her pneumonia flared up. Her breathing got worse, and they had to put the ventilator back in. By Gods grace she is getting better and will hopefully be home soon.
That is the previous days in a nut shell.
I just talked to krystens CF team here at johns Hopkins. They say her antibiotics are being doubled, and will hopefully fight the pneumonia a lot better. We should know in a couple of days. Krysten is still on the ventilator, and very sleepy. She is doing good with all of her physical therapy and treatments, Praise GOD! Her body is slowly recovering from the infections and staying stable. This is day 15 of her being in the hospital, and i pray that her faith is growing day by day as mine is. she is truly an amazing testimony to HIS amazing glory. I cant wait to hear her side of all this. It has been a very long 15 days, it has tested my faith, beaten me down, but HE brought me right back up. I hope i can update this day by day for everyone but in this place who knows. Thank you everyone for you support, love, and most importantly prayers.
LORD we thank you, for blessing Krysten and I with amazing family and friends. GOD i pray that everyone can see YOUR glory in this, and look to YOU. Father YOU are amazing. we thank YOU for the healing that has taken place in Krysten and i pray that YOU, the great physician will continue to heal her lungs. i pray in JESUS name AMEN!
We love you all!
